Veteran Support

One of the missions of is to find unique and effective ways to help support our veterans. In that effort, DoD Housing Network has partnered with Expedia Affiliate Network to provide our site with hotel listings at competitive rates. Since October 1st, 2014, 100% of the booking commissions that we make from reserved hotel stays have been sent to veteran's organizations such as VFW and WWP.

Air Warrior Courage Foundation

The Air Warrior Courage Foundation assists disabled and needy war veterans and members of the US Armed Services and their dependants, widows, and orphans. They also have programs to memorialise deceased veterans as well as provide scholarship assistance programs that go towards military service careers.


American Veterans (AMVETS)

AMVETS is a Congressionally chartered non-profit that assists US service veterans by safeguarding and enhancing veteran entitlements. AMVETS programs include anti-drug and alcohol abuse programs, youth support, blood drives, military funeral honors, and homeless veterans support.



Blinded Veterans Association

The Blinded Veterans Association promotes the welfare of blind veterans by assisting them in contacting VA Blind Rehabilitation Services, helping with VA claims and connecting blinded veterans with employment training and placement. The BVA also operates a volunteer service program which provides information to the blinded veteran and trains them on their equipment and aids.


Disabled American Veterans

The Disabled American Veterans organization provides free professional aid to veterans and veteran families to gain earned benefits and services from the VA and other government agencies.



Fisher House Foundation

The Fisher House Foundation operates comfortable lodging for military and veterans' families at no charge. This allows families to be close to their recovering service member or veteran. Fisher House Foundation collects and distributes donated frequent flyer miles and hotel points to allow family members to join their injured and recovering service member. They also manage a grant program for other military charities and scholarship funds for military dependents.


Green Berets Foundation

The Green Berets Foundation provides immediate financial assistance to Green Berets and their families. The Green Berets Foundation may supplement or replace Veteran's Administration (VA) benefits.



Homes For Our Troops

Homes For Our Troops works to build or remodel homes to make them usable for severely injured US veterans. Their goal is to enable independent living in personal and family environments.


Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund

The Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund provides immediate financial assistance and lifetime support for members of all US service branches wounded, critically ill, or injured after 9/11. The fund supports family support, adaptive housing, adaptive transportation, specialized equipment, education, career transitioning, rehabilitative sports programs.



Military Warriors Support Foundation

The Military Warriors Support Foundation provides support for combat wounded service members and Gold Star Families as they transition out of military life into civilian life. They award mortgage-free homes, and assist veterans in their search for employment.


National Amputation Foundation

The National Amputation Foundation has been assisting amputee veterans since 1919 and has expanded to include civilian amputee services as well. The NAF boosts morale of new amputees through visits by experienced amputees, introducing amputees to support groups and distributing medical equipment to those in need. The NAF supports itself through a fundraising golf outing and membership subscriptions.

Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society

The Navy-Marine Relief Society serves members of the US Navy and Marine Corps, family members, widows and survivors through financial assistance, education, and healthcare programs.


Operation Homefront

Operation Homefront provides emergency financial aid, food supplies, home repairs, baby items, and other critical services to active duty, reserve, National Guard, and veterans.



The Retired Enlisted Association

The Retired Enlisted Association supports and advocates for retired enlisted servicemembers from all branches of the uniformed services, informing its membership of important veterans affairs and working to maintain and improve earned benefits.


Special Operations Warrior Foundation

The Special Operations Warrior Foundation assists active and reserve US Special Operations Command through college scholarships, family services, and financial support of wounded SOF and family during hospital recovery.



Swords to Plowshares

Swords to Plowshares is a veterans rights organization working to provide care and services for veterans to include health, social, housing support, employment, training, and legal assistance services.


United Through Reading

United Through Reading supports military families by providing a reading aloud video recording service, which helps to ease parent-child separation stress. The reading aloud program promotes reading skills and family togetherness, despite long distances.



Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW)

The Veterans of Foreign Wars was founded in 1899 to secure rights and benefits for servicemen in a time when there was no medical care or pension for veterans. The VFW was a major mover for the GI Bill, improving VA medical centers, VA services for women veterans, funding creation of several national war memorials, provides over $3 million in college scholarships, and providing many other support services and programs for and from US veterans.


Veterans Support Foundation

The Veterans Support Foundation was founded in 1991 to serve the needs of US veterans of all eras and statuses. It provides support to veterans disabled during service, homeless veterans, and veteran families.



Wounded Warrior Project (WWP)

The Wounded Warrior Project supports US Armed Forces members by raising public awareness and enlisting public aid for the needs of service members severely injured in the line of duty on or after September 11, 2001.
