Welcome to U.S. Naval Academy
The U.S. Naval Academy is located in Annapolis, MD and was first established in 1845. The Academy gives young recruits academic and professional training in all areas of the Navy’s intelligence. As the type of Navy transportation has evolved such as nuclear-powered submarines and supersonic aircraft, so have the educational opportunities. The basis of the four-year curriculum focuses on integrity, honor, and mutual respect. The curriculum includes courses in engineering, science, mathematics, humanities, and social science. The Academy also offers professional and leadership training. The athletic programs are designed to aid military candidates in physical development as well as offering recreational opportunities for extra-curricular fun. Former President Jimmy Carter was a previous graduate of the United States Naval Academy as well as 2 Cabinet Members and 22 Members of the United States Congress.
