Naval Surface Warfare Center, Corona Division is a United States Navy facility that is home to laboratory and assessment services. The base provides support to the navy fleet by evaluating the sufficiency of ships and testing new defense systems. Areas of expertise include missile defense and instrument testing for new and innovative combat systems for both the Navy and the Marine Corps. The base’s mission is to makes sure that all systems are properly maintained for combat readiness. The base is located near San Bernardino, California. The city’s economy is based in government, retail, and service industries. The main employers in the area include the City of San Bernardino, the Unified school District and the County Public Works. Many office buildings and large retailers have moved into the riverfront district. Home buyers will find homes for sale ranging in price from $150k and up depending on the bedroom/bathroom combination. Local rail service is provided by the Metrolink regional rail service, and Amtrak offers passenger rail service to surrounding cities. Omnitrans and MARTA provide bus routes throughout the city. San Bernardino is home to many annual events including the Route 66 Rendezvous which is a four-day celebration of the famed Route 66. The city also holds the annual anniversary gathering of the Mother Charter of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club.
