Joint Base Langley-Eustis is a joint military base that was formed by combining Langley Air Force Base with the Army’s Fort Eustis in October 2010. The joint base became one of twelve in the United States and was formed as part of the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure Initiative. Joint Base Langley-Eustis is located in Hampton, Virginia and continues to offer air support as well as military training to many military personnel. The Housing at Joint Base Langley-Eustis is managed by the Housing Management Office. Military personnel are required to check in with the office and fill out a housing application. Applicants will then be placed on a waiting list. Some dog breeds are not acceptable in on-post housing. Check with the housing office for more specific details. Housing at Joint Base Langley-Eustis is privatized and handled by Barksdale Langley Bolling Family Housing. Temporary housing is provided by the Temporary Lodging Facility at Langley Air Force Base. The Langley Inns allow military personnel to secure temporary housing for up to 30 days. Langley Inns offers pet-friendly rooms, but military personnel are encouraged to call at least 60 days prior to arrival to check on pet-room availability.
